Houston was the place to be last night (February 4) for Taylor Swift fans. The singer-songwriter took center stage at DirectTV Now's Super Saturday Night event in anticipation of the Super Bowl later today.
Taylor was introduced by one of her squad members, Ruby Rose, who was DJing prior to Tay's performance. “If you guys scream loud enough, Taylor will hear you,” Ruby said to the cheering crowd.
Naturally, Taylor played all of her biggest hits, from “You Belong With Me,” to “Shake it Off,” and even the acoustic version of “I Don't Wanna Live Forever.” Unfortunately, Zayn did not join her onstage, as Taylor announced to fans while strumming the intro to the song. “I don't want you to think Zayn is going to come out, because he's definitely not,” she said. “I saw a lot of phones go up in the air. The only one you have here is me, I'm so sorry.”
For the lucky Swifties who were in the audience last night, they might have gotten to see Taylor's one and only performance of 2017. Tay reportedly told the crowd, “I have to be really honest with you about something: As far as I know, I'm doing one show in 2017. And as far as I know, this is that one show. So what I'm trying to tell you is, by coming here tonight, you're essentially attending 100 percent of my tour dates for the year….”
At least we'll always have the YouTube videos.
